Communion and the Cross
Bible Text: Matthew 26:20-25, 26-30; Deuteronomy 21:22-23; Luke 2:34-35; Psalm 22:1, 7-8, 14-18; | Preacher: Dale Rintelman | Series: Easter 2019 | The journey of the cross which began with Jesus’ first Passover (Jn 2) culminates in this last Passover meal with His disciples. The meal begins a memorable series of experiences of betrayal, beating, mockery, and death… to which Jesus states, “I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” Jesus, with extreme passion, looks forward to future time when Passover will have a new and eternal look.
