“HELP”
Sometimes the simplest prayers
are the ones that come from a person in need.
They may be but one-word prayers, like “HELP”
God knows exactly what is needed.
He doesn’t need to research or set up a fact-finding committee.
He’s created you and traveled with you
throughout your life’s journey.
He saw the things that happened and your responses to them.
He saw the ways that you designed to get your needs met.
And He waited.
He waited for the time
that you would be receptive to His words,
His offered hand, His provision.
He waited until you recognized your insufficiency
so that you could acknowledge His sufficiency.
He is the “I AM” that encompasses your every need.
Isaiah 41:17-20 is a statement of His intention,
a promise for you, with a purpose attached.
Enjoy it, and ask Him to show you
how He has, is, and will meet your intense thirst.
It is a thirst for what He alone can provide!
He is not handicapped by His creation or what He has allowed.
The only thing that interferes with what He wants to provide
is our unwillingness to access His reserves
by admitting our inability and asking Him to work
through that inability to draw us closer to Him
and teach us more of who He is
and what we need to know so that we can better
reflect Him to those in our world.
