Our expectations are often related to what we have experienced
or what we see as “humanly possible.”
We start to believe that what we know
is the framework in which God works
and so we experience stress and become disheartened.
We are so limited by our own experience.
When we do not “factor in” God,
we have every reason to be discouraged, even hopeless.
God’s work is so often beyond our understanding.
His picture extends far beyond that of our awareness.
We do well to read the Bible.
It tells us about ourselves.
We are limited in what we know,
self-oriented and focused on the here and now.
It also tells us about God,
and shows us that He works outside that framework,
for He is focused on an eternal relationship with His creation.
He knows everything, His power has no limits,
He is everywhere present.
