The position of Deacon is addressed in this scripture. /The perspective of “deaconing” comes from the Greek root which is used by Jesus designating a “servant.” Matthew 20 gives us a picture of the deeper understanding as the 12 disciples struggle with the conversation of Jesus and Mrs. Zebedee over James and John sitting at Jesus’ left and right hand.
