This seemingly small incident of Jesus healing Peter’s mother in law opens a large ministry of healing through serving. Jesus serves the household by healing Peter’s MIL. Peter’s MIL serves Jesus and then Jesus serves the multitude needs of the townspeople. This opens up the prophetic answer to Isaiah 53 which tells of the suffering servant.
