Party Spirit or Communion Remembrance
Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 | Preacher: Paul Leichty
Communion, the Lord’s Supper, is a remembrance of the Body of Christ. In this act, the church remembers the physical body of Christ sacrificed on the cross as well as the spiritual body of Christ consisting of the community gathered in Christ’s name, the church. Communion remembrance stands in contrast with a party spirit which would drag us back into the world’s ways of selfish partying which also leads to division and strife.
