Jesus finally appears to the one disciple that was not there on the evening of resurrection day. Eight days later Thomas makes it clear that he feels slighted by being left out. At the statement that he won’t believe unless he gets to see what the other disciples saw Jesus appears and offers to Thomas his body for Thomas to experience this. However, Jesus adds, “Blessed are those who believe and do not see.”
