In this passage, Jesus clearly is emoting on the desire of a mother who would gather her chicks together. They reject her passionate entreaty. Here Jesus uses His desire to gather “Jerusalem,” His beloved. Pastor Dale gives practical steps regarding thinking about and praying for those we love who do not respond to the loving desire of God to cover them with His wing.
