In this passage of scripture we Jesus coaxes out of the disciples a statement of faith that He saw bubbling up inside of them. Jesus is continuing to encourage the disciples' ability to process what God is doing around them. Through this memorable interaction that begins with Jesus' time of prayer with His Father, and ends with Peter's confession of who Jesus is, we see the disciples grow in faith through response. "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God."
