Our Treasures
Matthew 13:44-46

A treasure is something
not only recognized as having value
but valued enough
that one makes the effort
to acquire, to hold, to enjoy,
to incorporate into one’s life.

To value something
is to match my words
with behaviors that verify it.
To say I value something
when my behaviors counter that,
is to lie,
for behaviors tend to tell the truth
more often than do words!

Watching what others do
and how it aligns with what they say
is a way of discerning our true treasures.
