Our series through the teachings of Jesus brought us to a passage in Matthew 7:28 which revealed an amazement by the “hearers.” This passage is the second of four passages where this word occurs following an interaction with a person or a group by Jesus. In this passage from Matthew 22, Jesus is in the middle of a day of “testings” by the religious leaders in Jerusalem. The Sadducees use a hypothetical situation to trap Jesus but Jesus turns the tables on them.
